Closer Liaison between Hong Kong

and His Majesty's Embassy and Consulate Staff in China.

I enclose copies of further correspondence we have had with the Foreign Office, following your letter of 3rd May.

No doubt you will now pursue direct with the Consul General, Canton, the matter referred to in the last paragraph of Scott's letter to Galsworthy, dated the 29th July, namely that a Hong Kong officer should accompany His Majesty's Consul General, Canton, on any of his tours to outlying parts of the District.

Yours sincerely,

D. M. MacDOUGALL, ESQ., C.M.G.
